Who we are...

Texas Catholic Boys Camp is what started our history and continues today as one of the  summer camp programs.

Initially, in 1937 in the Texas Hill Country, and then at our current permanent site in 1951, the Marianist Brothers not only gave Tecaboca its name (the first two letters of each word creates the name) TExas CAtholic BOys CAmp, they built a fine reputation for quality programs for young men. Now the reputation extends to day camp, girls' camp (in development for summer 2018), retreats, ones sponsored by Tecaboca for families, men, and women, and ones for which Tecaboca is a host site...thus we no longer consider the word TeCaBoCa to be an abbreviation, rather a word that extends over several different programs and one place: Tecaboca!

Tecaboca is a sponsored ministry of the Marianist Province of the U.S., The Marianist Family is a Catholic community of Religious Priests, Brothers, Sisters, and Lay Men and Women who strive to live their Christian life as Mary did, open to God's loving action, responsive to the Spirit's invitation, and willing to be a dynamic participant in Jesus’ mission. Like Mary and with Mary, we form Christ within us and embody Christ in our world and in our times. We cry out for justice, stand with the suffering; pray at times of great uncertainty for discernment and for the courage to go out and do “whatever he tells us.” (John 2:5)
